Abstract

What needs truly undergird our well-being?

Quiet North brings together ten perspectives—ten unique bodies of work by designers, architects, and collectives. At the heart of their contributions lie the northern dimension and the urgent, critical questions of our time. This exhibition foregrounds alternative ways of seeing and speaks to human values long overshadowed by our culture of consumption. Its scope encompasses the fields of design and architecture, while reaching out more broadly into societal and ecological concerns. Drawing on the methods of Speculative and Critical Design, the works engage difficult themes with sensitivity and resolve. They invite us to reflect on the values embedded in our way of life and to consider the transformative potential of reimagining them.

Quiet North reflects life in the northern zone. It reminds us of the distinctiveness of our location. In silence lies a hidden strength—an invitation to pause and return to what matters most.
