Abstract

We have studied the effect of iron and different phosphorus diffusion gettering (PDG) treatments on the properties, especially on the conversion efficiency, of single crystalline silicon solar cells. In this paper we present and discuss results obtained from simulations of different initial iron concentration containing solar cells which have undergone different PDG treatments. The results clearly show the usefulness of optimized PDG treatments. We have also investigated the influence of iron gettered to the emitter on the efficiency of the cell.
