Abstract

Processibility of polyaniline (PANI) can be increased by using functionalized counter ions, such as dodecyl benzene sulphonic acid (DBSA). Recently it has been observed that extra DBSA yields plasticized and protonated melt processable complexes. In this study the reaction between PANI and DBSA has been investigated by DSC and dielectric thermal analysis (DEA). A phase diagram has been compiled for the PANI/DBSA system.
