Abstract
A recently published antenna tuning concept promises efficient antenna performance over a wide bandwidth. The method relies on sophisticated control of phase and magnitude during reception and transmission. In this letter, we analyze the effect of tuning on the overall transceiver performance using simplified models for the transmitter and receiver. The results indicate the feasibility of the concept without significant effect on efficiency.
