Pairing of fermions in optical lattices

We consider weakly interacting fermionic atoms in optical lattices. We show that the system can be described by the Hubbard model, and solve the BCS gap equations. Cooper-pairing is shown to take place for parameter values which are obtainable for alkali atoms in optical lattices.
