Abstract
Processibility of polyaniline (PANI) can be increased by using functionalized counter ions, such as dodecyl benzene sulphonic acid (DBSA). Recently it has been observed that increased DBSA content yields plasticized and protonated melt processable complex. In this work this plasticizing effect has been studied using dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA). Three thermal relaxations are observable, the uppermost may be assigned to the glass transition temperature. The critical DBSA mole fraction to achieve essential plasticization is 0.7.
