Abstract

How can we bring about a positive change in the world of textile manufacturing and design?

The New landscapes in textile design exhibition proposes solutions by focusing on increasing sustainable textile production through digital prototyping, repurposing leftover yarns and combining print with woven jacquard fabrics to optimise dye and material usage. These methods can reduce the environmental impact by minimising textile waste and decreasing the consumption of raw materials.

The exhibition highlights the importance of creative collaboration in renewing textile design practices, developing manufacturing techniques and colour use while prioritising the use of surplus materials.
