Abstract

Process automation is no wadays recognized as an interdisciplinary education activity. In the future, students will have to receive a broad education in order to cope with cross-disciplinary applications and the rapidly changing technology. In this paper the new tools available for process automation education are presented and discussed. First, a web-based study support environment is described and evaluation of the application results reported. Second, a state-of-the-art flotation cell pilot plant and a remote support system for a pressure filter for experimental training are presented. Finally the evaluation of the programme is briefly discussed.
