Musical analogues of mathematical concepts

Abstract

The art forms that I practice – music, drama and dance – rely on performance of melody, rhythm, speech, and movement. In my work in the field of engineering, I am facing on a daily basis mathematical concepts, which quite rarely have counterpoints in performing arts. This exhibition comes from my curiosity towards finding a form of representing mathematical concepts through music, that would allow conveying the meaning or logic of the phenomenon in a clear and understandable way. In my quest, I favored simplicity over complexity, and came up with two concepts that are both musically interesting, and reflect the original mathematical concept.
