Abstract

Process characterization modeling and experiments are carried out to study the influence of various manufacturing processes on the product functional requirement metrics. Performance metrics are identified based on customer requirements while the transformation of raw materials into the final product is diagrammed into a topology of the operational sequence. A basic model that relates known product and material variables to the metrics is then developed.
