Abstract

We introduce a novel idea for minimizing the 3rd-order intermodulation product (IM3) in an amplifier-antenna system. The method utilizes co-simulation of antenna array and amplifier with load-pull in minimizing IM3-to-carrier (IM3C). Simulation results of an example case show that as compared to a conventionally matched system, the suggested matching provides 1.4-dB improvement in IMC3 for broadside beam without sacrificing the radiated power at the main tones.
