Abstract

Two techniques for describing the propagation of monochromatic and quasi-monochromatic nonparaxial fields, particularly focused ones, are presented in this talk. The first is based on a nonparaxial generalization of the Wigner function, while the second is based on the definition of a complete orthonormal basis of fields that are closed form solutions of Maxwell,s equations and can be regarded as nonparaxial generalizations of Laguerre-Gaussian beams.
