Abstract
The platform independent Matrix system that provides an extensive set of visual concepts for data structure visualization and algorithm animation was illustrated. These concepts include visualizations for primitive types, arrays, lists, trees, and graphs. The system is capable of user controlled simululation of algorithms. Matrix will be integrated into an advanced learning environment that is used to teach data structures and algorithms at the university level.
