Abstract
The research examines the chronology and construction of the medieval stone churches in Eastern Uusimaa region in South Eastern Finland. The study is based on new results and dendrochronological analyses of Pernaja Church. The article introduces new mutual chronology to the vaultings of the churches, based on new observations of the earliest phase of Pernaja Church without brick-built vaulting. According to the accounts of St. Olaf Church (Tallinn), it is probable that the same masters that finished the vaulting of St. Olaf in 1450, carried out the extensive construction work in Eastern Uusimaa in the 1450s and early 1460s.
