    Abstract

In this paper, we propose method for fabrication of metal-dielectric nanostructures on a large area substrate. The irregular arrays of gold and silver nanocylinders with silicon core were produced by this process. The measured optical spectra confirm appearance of localized surface plasmon resonance in metal-shell nanocylinders. The obtained 2D arrays can be used as a component of more complicated metamaterials. The potential applications of the method are in the field of surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy, thin film solar cells and plasmonic sensors.
