    Abstract

    HSL (Finnish: Helsingin seudun liikenne) or HRT (Swedish: Helsingforsregionens trafik) is the authority which is in charge of maintaining the public transportation network of Helsinki, Finland.

    HSL Information Design project aimed at improving passenger information experiences. The information design process initiated with study and overall analysis of passenger interaction with various modes of public transportation in Helsinki region and identify issues and breakpoints in communication.

    Our team of students under the guidance of the Professor Rupesh Vyas, worked in collaboration with the team of HSL, considering academic goals of learning from real context and situations to provide effective Information Design solutions using new perspective on how certain aspects in the existing design material in HSL could be improved for passenger information experiences.

    The outcome of the Information Design project for HSL ‘Bus Information Poster’ was implemented during June-July 2017 to across Helsinki Region on each Bus Stop.
