The exchange – Found in transalation

Galleria Huuto (Helsinki) and the project space Scotty Enterprises (Berlin) were engaged in an artistic exchange, based on a process of translation of imagery. Each artist constructed a work that referenced a work of one of the artists from the other gallery. Thus, on exhibit were the works resulting from this process of translating, interpereting and being inspired by images, ideas, themes, thoughts and notions.

The title ”Found in Translation” is a reference to the idiom ”Lost in Translation”. Replacing the word “Lost” with the “Found” we wished to embrace the idea of interacting with the unknown: the method of the exchange defined the concept of interpretations in artworks.
