Abstract

In this paper, for the first time, we report fabrication of free-standing (no carrier wafer) electrospray ionization (ESI) emitter tips as integral parts of thiol-ene-based electrophoresis chips. Integrated ESI tips enable their direct coupling to mass spectrometry (MS). In addition, we present performance characterization of the developed chips in ESI/MS analysis of peptides and small drug molecules.
