Exterior Space Model for an Acoustic Eigenvalue Problem

Abstract

A method is introduced for speeding up resonance computations for modelling human speech production. In the method, a reduced order basis is constructed for treating the exterior acoustic domain. This allows considerable reduction in the dimension of the eigenvalue problem and leads to substantial savings in computational time.
