Abstract

The role of digital learning assessment in a web-based 360° virtual bioengineering laboratory training has been investigated. Four different digital assessment methods were implemented into a learning experience. Feedback collected from students revealed that even though students preferred more the traditional assessment methods, they considered the new assessment methods to be more valuable for their learning. Overall, the study provides systematic insights into conventional and novel assessment methods in the context of virtual laboratory training and emphasizes critical need for continued experimentation and innovation in assessment design to enhance learning outcomes and adapt to the evolving landscape of digital bioengineering education.
