Abstract
A system based on carbon dioxide compression was built and tested to address the need for different electricity storage systems. The energy was stored in the compressed gas utilizing a liquid piston with hydraulic oil. 59 % overall efficiency in storage was achieved with room for improvement by upgrades in hydraulic components.
