Abstract

This letter presents a novel transmitting (Tx) coil structure consisting of tilted loops to enhance the stability of wireless power transfer (WPT) systems in the presence of lateral misalignment. The optimal tilted angle of 50° is selected to achieve a balance between system stability and efficiency. The power transfer efficiency (PTE) at lateral distances approximately equal to two-thirds of the transmitter size remains above 80% of the efficiency at the aligned position. The proposed single Tx coil significantly improves system stability over both short and long transfer distances without the need for any additional circuits and control algorithms.
