Abstract
Gyrokinetic simulations are performed to study the effect of the recycling model implemented in the ELMFIRE code [1] on SOL physics in FT-2 tokamak. ELMFIRE is a global full-f gyrokinetic code which is able to simulate open field lines using the logical boundary condition [2]. The Full torus of the FT-2 tokamak is simulated from the magnetic axis to the
SOL region defined by the two poloidal limiter rings. A parametric study of the recycling model is performed and the corresponding changes in the average density and density fluctuations are analysed as a function of the radial recycling profile. A comparison to the experimental measurements taken with the Langmuir probe in the edge region of the FT-2
tokamak is possible.
