Design of microwave all-dielectric focusing metasurface based on bianisotropic resonators

Abstract

The results of numerical simulations of the microwave metasurface for focusing of the reflected electromagnetic wave into a spot are presented. The metasurface is formed as an array of bianisotropic resonators with a broken symmetry characterized by permittivity of 12.25. The dimension of the each resonator has been optimized numerically to obtain the desired reflected field front. The focusing of the reflected wave at a distance of 7λ from the metasurface with the spot size to aperture ratio less than 0,14 has been obtained. Moreover the metasurface remains transparent outside of the operating frequency band.
