Abstract
As lifestyles and the everyday have already been in the center of the attention in aesthetics and cultural studies for a long time, their end, i.e. death, and its sometimes popular culture driven rituals have not been much discussed yet. My essay, a hommage to the journal A & P (Art Communication and Popculture) at the moment of its funeral, dives in to the topic asking the following questions: What is the role of popular culture in relation to funerals? Where are we heading in this respect? Should and/or could aesthetics, cultural studies and art education have a role in this process and its development?
