Abstract

The authors regret an error in Fig. 7a of the original paper after it was published. Such Figure shows a comparison between experimental and numerically predicted S-N curves of the 7075-T6 aluminum alloy obtained under uniaxial tension-compression with different stress ratios, and pure torsion. The legend in the original plot presents mistaken values of the stress ratios included in the study, and the corrected Figure is shown below.[Formula presented] Fig. 1. Comparison between experimental and numerically predicted S-N curves of the 7075-T6 aluminum alloy obtained under uniaxial tension-compression with different stress ratios (R), and pure torsion. The solid triangles pointing to the right represent run-out data points. It is noteworthy that only the legend of the plot was mistaken, all the calculations and data correspond with the correct values of the stress ratio, so all the conclusions of the original paper hold true. The authors would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.
