Abstract

Clients can use procurement options both to manage risks and to achieve set project objectives. For that purpose one possible risk treatment method is presented in this paper. The method contains a definition of risk suitable for building procurement, a classification for project objectives, and three categories of risk sources. With the help of this method the client is able to choose appropriate procurement options both to promote positive project outcomes and to hinder negative ones. The basis for this work has been to describe the different procurement options by disjoining the known procurement paths into separate items.
