Abstract
Event at Designs for a Cooler Planet / Helsinki Design week.
Biochar can significantly increase the long-term capacity of cities to sequester carbon. It can also help with storm-water management and prevents run-off. Biochar can be made of organic waste, and it could replace use of peat in planting soil.
The project is a collaboration between City of Helsinki, University of Helsinki and University of Jyväskylä.
