Abstract
Since 2009 artist researcher Bartaku and Aronia m. berry are in a process of increasing entanglement. The essence of the berry and its intra-action with other species emerge and crystallize via public labs, performative happenings or interventions, talks, etc. Hereby the artist and his companions are the berry-serving agencies that engage with local and global life forms: artists, scientists, citizens, companion species and cultural audiences.
The paper discusses how recurrent annual wanderings and artistic practice impact upon the relations between a former berry State-farm/sovkhoz and other human and non-human life forms in the periferal Midwest of Latvia.
