ARCH24 Design for Health and Wellbeing - Best practice papers from the 6th International Conference on Architecture, Research, Care and Health 17-19 June 2024, Espoo, Finland

The booklet ARCH24 Design for Health and Wellbeing presents best practice papers and posters from the 6th International Conference on Architecture, Research, Care, and Health, held at Aalto University in Espoo, Finland, in June 2024. The theme, Effects of Design on Health and Wellbeing explored how design impacts physical, mental, and social health outcomes. The 30 selected presentations—21 peer-reviewed papers and nine posters—adress topics such as designing for emotional and social wellbeing, transforming care delivery models, and creating spaces that support recovery, rehabilitation, and holistic health. The objective of this collection is to inspire further inquiry and application of best practices within the discipline. We invite readers to engage deeply with the content, as it reflects both the current state and future directions of design at the intersection of architecture and health. In closing, we express our gratitude to all participants, contributors, organizers and sponsors, whose efforts have culminated in this enriching discourse and knowledge exchange.
