Anisotropy of negative ion mobility in stationary and rotating 3He-A

Abstract

The mobility tensor for negative ions in 3He is calculated for the axisymmetric A and polar phases.The superfluid energy gap ΔA(T)is extracted from the A-phase mobility. In rotating 3He-A, our calculation, based on the assumption that polar phase occupies the core of a singular vortex, explains the measured high mobility along vortices in rotating 3He-A.
