Abstract

Amos Rex coats are designed by the interdisciplinary artistic duo @ensaemble , consisting of designers Alisa Närvänen and Elina Peltonen. A strong drive towards sustainability has been taken into account in the design and production of the workwear with the help of garment production and sourcing studio Post-mode. The inspiration for the Amos Rex coat comes from vintage workwear, specifically different forms of artists’ coats from early and mid-century painters and sculptors. Närvänen’s own experience as a museum guide at Amos Rex has also had a strong influence to the design.
