Abstract
Mobile ad hoc network (MANET) has become a practical platform for pervasive social networking. In such a system, various content information flows in terms of content query and response. To which extent should mobile users trust it, whilst user privacy can also be preserved? For solving this problem, we propose AdContRep, a privacy enhanced reputation system for MANET content services. We develop a novel hybrid trust model to evaluate node recommendation trust and content reputation in the context of frequent change of node pseudonyms. The evaluation is based on ephemeral node experiences and/or historical node recommendation behaviors. Our simulation results show the model's effectiveness with regard to unfair rating attack and on-off attack. A prototype implementation based on Nokia N810 tablets further proves the concept of AdContRep design.
