Abstract

We propose the use of clothing-integrated conductive textile-based Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags featuring variable-phase profiles for RF-based human sensing. This approach enables the distinction and interpretation of movements from various body parts independently. We propose a scheme based on varying phase profiles in order to isolate reflections from distinct tags. The feasibility of the approach is demonstrated analytically in this work. Our instrumentation in a laboratory environment involves tag-groups attached to a solid board. The next step is the evaluation of the system when tags are mounted to a moving person.
