A 10-MHz channel-select filter for a multicarrier WCDMA base-station

    Abstract

    A channel-select filter for a multicarrier WCDMA receiver targeted for base-station applications is described in this paper. The 4th-order Chebyshev lowpass filter with a 0.1-dB passband ripple is designed to drive high-resolution A/D converters. The -3-dB frequency of the implemented filter is 10 MHz in order to receive two adjacent downconverted WCDMA channels. The filter is designed to have high in- and out-of-band dynamic ranges. It achieves +25-dBV in-band IIP3, +37-dBV out-of-band IIP3, and 11.2-nV/√Hz inputreferred noise density. The circuit uses a 2.S-V supply and has been fabricated with a 0.25-μm SiGe BiCMOS process.
