The lifetime probability to develop cancer is 1 in 3 in females and 1 in 2 in males. Commonly, tissue biopsy is required to confirm diagnosis and to decide on therapy. Limitations in biopsy leads to false diagnosis and delayed entry to therapy. In this project, enhancement of biopsy is attempted with the help from sound with high energy. The connections between properties of ultrasound and properties of the obtained sample and cancer tumor are investigated to understand the physics of the sound in biopsy. Enhancement of biopsy by sound could lead to more reliable cancer diagnostic. Therefore, this project could lead to significant benefits
to the patient, treating physician, healthcare system and, therefore, to the society.
