Description

As a massive number of smart objects are becoming part of the Internet of Things, the most compelling challenges are no longer represented by the sheer interconnection of heterogeneous devices; they are rather to ensure that these devices can easily be installed and operated in a scalable, reliable and secure way. This project specifically addresses such challenges by building usable and secure methods to configure, manage and maintain a large number of Internet-connected devices, with the ultimate goal of improving the dependability of services built on top of the Internet of Things. The proposed research takes a multi-disciplinary approach lying at the intersection of networking, distributed systems, security, and human-computer interaction.
