Silica-DNA Hybrid Nanostructures as Next Generation Self-Assembling Nanomaterials

Project Details

Description

The SiDNAno project aims to develop a selective silicification method for fabrication of the next generation nanomaterials. Using this technique, self-assembling DNA origami structures can be strengthened by SiO2 while still retaining its advantageous properties. Accomplishment of this project will not only facilitate the real-life applications of DNA nanotechnology, but also generate new insight and knowledge for controlling the composition of nanostructures at a higher level.
