Description

The objective of the proposed research is to harness fog networking to enable mission-critical IoT applications. Specifically, the project aims at defining novel mathematical and software tools to optimize the performance of large-scale IoT applications over heterogeneous devices, with a focus on reliable and low-latency operations. How to leverage a network of heterogeneous devices for mission-critical applications? How to guarantee reliable and low-latency operations in fog environments? What are the key modeling abstractions able to capture the complexity of large-scale IoT systems? Indeed, these are the research questions we tackle in this project.
