Micro- and millistructured reactors for catalytic oxidation reactions

The aim of the project is to study and develop the fabrication and use of micro- and millistructured reactors. Such reactors are applicable both for production and research purposes. The advantages of these reactors comprise effective heat and mass transfer, easy scale-up by number-up and safety e.g. in hazardous oxidation reactions. Fabrication techniques by laser as well as application in catalytic oxidation reactions of bio-alcohols will be studied and developed. The catalytic oxidation studies comprise development of catalyst preparation and monitoirng techniques, investigation of multiphase operation and development mathematical modelling as well as safety procedures.
