Plant Cell Components in 2D - Kasvin soluseinän komponentit 2D pinnoilla

Project Details

Description

The project is a fundamental effort to survey the behaviour of plant polymers in a confined 2-dimensional space, for example, on a flat surface. Emphasis is set on interfacial phenomena.

Key findings

1. New method to produce cellulose nanocrystals via an interfacial gas/solid reaction.
2. Tuning the polymorphic transition of cellulose via surface-induced effects.
3. Several new functional materials discovered via interfacial interactions.
