The aim is to develop (low-cost and close-range) remote sensing methods for analysing the impacts of hydro-climatic variation on seasonal river hydro-morphodynamics. The study site is the Pulmanki river (Northern Finland). The methodology is developed in collaboration with new partners UEF (PI Lotsari) and TU Dresden (PI Eltner). The Finnish group provides expertise regarding the study area and numerical modelling. German group provides the methodologies for data processing, integration of sensors, and workflow design. Germans (3 persons) visit Finland 3 times in 2020-22. Finnish group (PI,2xPhD student) visits TU Dresden in Nov 2020, Nov 2021 and June 2022 to process data, preform numerical modelling and writing of papers. A solid scientific partnership is developed. The innovation is the new integrated approach applying a variety of remotes sensing methods with traditional physical measurements. The methods/results are applicable for Finnish society, but also outside cold regions.
