Description

The project is focusing on THz detectors based on graphene operating in heterodyne regime. It opens up a possibility for a spectral THz imaging, which is highly beneficial in such field as medical diagnostics and bio sensing. Specifically, the project will investigate the graphene field effect transistor based heterodyne detectors and radiation rectification mechanisms in them, which are plasma wave rectification and thermoelectric rectification. By investigating the new models of the rectification, combining the rectification mechanisms, and thoroughly optimizing the parameters of the detectors the final goal of the project is to demonstrate novel, high performance, and cost-effective THz spectroscopy systems.
