The two-project consortium studies the future of bioeconomy in three time frames - 2025, 2075, and 2125. In the first project, futures studies scholars conduct questionnaires to gather foresights and ideas about the shape of future developments, distil the data into scenarios, and test the materials by subjecting them to multiple expert panels. In the second project, applied philosophers create a model on how private and public decision makers can be responsible for their actions and inactions, assess the concrete repercussions that the assigned responsibilities should have in the name of justice, and then join the futures studies scholars in evaluating what kinds of economic and political decisions would be the most adequate right now, and what could be done to promote them. The results will be presented, inter alia, to the Finnish Parliamentary Committee for the Future and to the Standing Committee for Foresight in the Prime Minister's Office.
