Artistic and research interests
Visual social media, such as Instagram, have become a relevant publishing platform for photojournalist in everyday work practices. Instagram is a platform where social media users, both professionals and non-professionals, can create visual and textual meanings. Instagram can be a thin and slippery tightrope for photojournalists to balance between professional and other roles. For these reasons, the present case study frames the performative elements of professional authorship evident on Instagram.
