    Artistic and research interests

I lead the Atomic Scale Physics group (http://physics.aalto.fi/stm) and we focus on probing the atomic scale structure and electronic properties of molecules and nanostructures using low-temperature scanning tunnelling microscopy (STM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM). Recently, we are concentrating on realizing designer materials by fabricating structures with atomically precise geometries, and controlled lattice symmetries and interactions. This would allow us to create artificial materials with engineered electronic properties.
