Artistic and research interests
My background is in textile design. I graduated from Aalto University in 2015, and during my undergraduate studies I focused on knitted structures and novel biomaterials. I also have a strong interest in sustainability issues. After participating projects that bring material scientists and designers together (CHEMARTS & Design Driven Value Chains in the World of Cellulose), I became interested in the process of collaboration, and wanted to understand it more. Now my doctoral research is a study of integration of these fields in the context of material innovation.
Currently I’m working in an EU-funded innovation project called Trash-2-Cash. It aims for regenerating novel man-made fibres from textile waste through a design driven process and interprofessional collaboration.
