Artistic and research interests

Professor, emeritus Kristian Möller served as a full Professor of Business Administration (marketing) at Aalto University School of Business (until 2010 Helsinki School of Economics, HSE) from 1987 till 2013. During this period, he was active in the management of the Helsinki School of Economics, leading the Marketing group and department, and having several roles in the academic administration of the HSE. He was a professor at Vaasa University (1980-1987) and has held several visiting professor/scholar positions internationally – EIASM (European Institution for Advanced Studies in Management, Brussels) in 1982 and 1992; Penn State (Fulbright Professorship) 1987-88 and 1991; Aston University Business School, 1997; University of Bath, School of Management 2003, and Haas School of Business, University of Berkeley 2010-11.

Prof. Möller’s research covers strategic marketing, business relationships and networks, and marketing theory. He is one of the key developers of the management perspective in business and innovation networks and is still active in the field. His articles have appeared in such journals as the California Management Review, European Marketing Journal, Industrial Marketing Management, Journal of Business Research, and Journal of Management Studies. Möller has also been active in the EMAC (European Marketing Academy), being first the VP for Conferences and then President (1990-1992), and in the IMP Group since 1986. 

Always active in doctoral education Möller chaired 1996-2013 The National Finnish Doctoral Program of Business Studies and was responsible for several internationally participated doctoral courses organized in collaboration with the EIASM. He has been the principal supervisor for 33 doctoral candidates and a co-supervisor for an additional nine. Several students doctorated in large-scale, externally funded research projects and consortia which Möller was designing and co-leading 2000-2013.  These involved intensive multi-university and corporate collaboration.

Möller continues active research in business and innovation networks domain, and in marketing theory.
