Personal profile

Artistic and research interests

My main research interests are strategic spatial planning and strategic urban governance, at local and city-regional scales. I am also interested in institutional theory.

The aim of my dissertation is to enrich understanding on strategic spatial planning and especially its dialectical relationship with statutory spatial planning. In order to do so, in my dissertation, I direct focus on the role of spatial imaginaries in creating and mediating this relationship in institutionally vague conditions. My dissertation explores strategic spatial planning especially in the Finnish context.
