Artistic and research interests

Dr. Ylirisku works as a postdoctoral researcher in University of Helsinki and a part-time teacher in Aalto ARTS, the program of Visual Art Education at the Department of Art and Design. Her doctoral dissertation explores environmental art education using a critical posthumanist approach. Ylirisku's research interests include linkages of environmental thought and art education, posthumanist educational philosophies, postqualitative and artistic methodologies, and multispecies and material entanglements. Her recent artistic practice is inspired by walking art.
