Artistic and research interests

Ylirisku finalizes her doctoral dissertation at the Department of Art and works as a university teacher in the program of Visual Art Education. Her background is in visual art education (MA), geography and martial arts. She has been teaching at different levels of schooling since 2002. Ylirisku's doctoral research explores environmental art education using an ecological posthumanist approach. Her research interests include linkages of environmental thought and art education, posthumanist educational philosophies, and arts-based research methods especially related to walking.
